GTO (Great Teacher
Onizuka) is an extremely popular anime hit series based off of the manga,
written by Tohru Fujisawa. According to the
GTO Anime website, the finale of the GTO anime series was the
most watched in all of Japanese TV!
Anyway, the main
character of this hilarious anime series is Onizuka--a 22-year-old horny
ex-biker. His mission: to become the greatest teacher ever!
Onizuka first (amazingly) becomes a high school so that he could score
high school chicks. Though Onizuka gets the job, he realizes
that there many lessons to be learned. But in the end, Onizuka
realizes that becoming a teacher means making a difference.

Golden
Boy, Onizuka has what I like to call a golden heart. Meaning
though he can be quite crude at times, he winds up doing the right thing,
whether it be for other people or for himself. This anime series
also has a very well done character setup--you have the hot teacher,
Azusa Fuyutsuki, the typical student with a
hot mother, Kunio Murai and other interesting and unique
characters. Aside from the great character setup, the impression
this series had on me was remarkable. Though crude and foul-mouthed
at times, Onizuka actually teaches it's viewers a lesson every episode.
Because of this anime series' well-balanced comedy and drama, C-Anime
gives GTO five stars.
